A WEEK OF FAUX FREELANCE

My office closes for two weeks around Christmas. It's the best worst thing that's ever happened to me. Awful because obviously going back was a disaster to say the least, but amazing because I got to act like a college kid on break.

To ease back into the "showering every day, wear something besides a robe" routine, I took a week and went to a different Cleveland coffee shop each day. I wanted to try to maneuver free wifi and outlet wars, in a world free of 9-to-5's and cubicles.

Photos and five word reviews below.

Phoenix Coffee, Ohio City / Clean. Crisp. Almond Milk Cappuccinos.

Blackbird Baking Company, Rocky River / Scones. Awesome Pastries. Yoga Moms.

The Root Cafe, Lakewood / Vegan. Loud. Definitely Get Food.

LOOP, Tremont / Part Record Store. Perfect Zoning-Vibe.

Rising Star, Hingetown / Would Kill For Daily Visit. A+++

If you live in Cleveland, you're probably thinking, "but what about __?!" And you're right. But there are only five days in the week and there was no way I was going anywhere near my office to Pour on my day off. Also, Cleveland Tea Revival unfortunately doesn't count as a coffee shop.
