Basically these are what you can get at the fair, without having to go to the fair. They pair exceptionally well with that grown up snack dinner also known as a "cheese plate."
WHAT YOU NEED:
1/3 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1 pound mixed nuts (I used pecans, cashews, walnuts and pistachios)
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together sugars, cinnamon, salt and cayenne pepper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg white and water until frothy. Add the nuts and sugar mixture, and stir until evenly coated.
- Spread the nuts in a single layer on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, stopping to stir and separate the nuts twice during baking. Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
