I love margaritas but any kind of neon green mix really freaks me out. It's always way too sweet and never tastes quite right to me.
It turns out making them from scratch is laughably easy. Do it!
WHAT YOU NEED:
For each margarita
1 1/2 oz. tequila
1 oz. triple sec
1/2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
kosher salt (optional)
lime slice (optional)
- If you want a salted rim, rub lime juice along the edge of the glass and then twist on a plate covered with salt. Try to avoid getting any salt into the glass. Fill the glass with ice and put in freezer to chill.
- In a cocktail shaker, add tequila, triple sec and lime juice and fill halfway with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty. Strain into the chilled glass and garnish with the lime slice.
